We've provided a series of links to other websites and groups you may be interested in. We've favoured Advocacy organisations, mental health services and Scottish sites, but also included some other UK sites which we think might be of interest. We leave it to visitors to decide which sites work for them.

We've tried to group them in a helpful way, but it's not an easy undertaking; some groups overlap; some people might feel we've placed a site wrongly. We've placed each site in the group that we felt describes their chief function. We acknowledge that we may need to revisit these choices form time to time! EARS Advocacy Service for Older People
A free, confidential, independent and professional service for Older People
Edinburgh Carers Council
Information, support, training and learning opportunities, and advocacy or representation for carers of those who use mental health services
Patients' Council
The Patients' Council was set up 15 years ago and continues to be based in the Royal Edinburgh Hospital. It facilitates collective advocacy for patients and former patients of the hospital, bringing about change in the way that services and treatment are provided.

Scottish Independent Advocacy Alliance
SIAA promotes, supports and defends the principles and practice of independent advocacy across Scotland. The SIAA directory contains details of over 100 advocacy organisations across Scotland.

The SIAA brought out 'Principles and Standards for Independent Advocacy' and a 'Code of Practice for Independent Advocacy' in 2008.

WASP Edinburgh
We Are Seeking Progress Self Help Group. Members of No Panic, Depression Alliance, and National Phobics Society. Group offers support and understanding to anxiety sufferers in a similar position. You are welcome to attend our meetings, usually average eight people at one time, run by sufferers of agorophobia, social phobia, panic attacks or other related disorders.
